If you are considering buying a greenhouse, you should be
looking at your long-term goals. If you are just starting
out in gardening, your interests will continue to grow as
the seasons continue to change. If you already have three
10 x 10 gardens in your lawn, and you are planning for more,
you may be ready for an 8x 10 greenhouse.
If you only have a space that is 2 x 7 along
the side of the house for growing plants, with a very small
yard, you may be interested in a grow rack or 6 x 8
greenhouse that you can expand and grow more plants in. You
should also consider if you do have a smaller garden, but
love plants, you might want a larger greenhouse so you dont
have to worry about where your plants will go, they can stay
in the greenhouse year round!
If you are a long time master gardener you know what your
favorites are and what special climate conditions you may
need for your plants. Now all you have left is to decide on
how much space you want for your treasured plants once the
summer months have long passed by. Depending on the plants
you are planning on growing and the seasons that you want
to use a greenhouse for will also determine what size greenhouse
you should buy.
No matter if you are a beginner gardener or the master gardener,
consider what extra space you have in your yard
for a greenhouse. Your next consideration should be, what
do you want to grow. If you want to grow flowers and vegetables,
you may need a large greenhouse, lots of space. If you are
concentrating your efforts on vegetables, you may need a smaller
greenhouse, because your actual outside garden may not hold
as much as you might like.
If you live on a farm, and have a 20 x 50 vegetable
garden, you may need a larger greenhouse (at least an 8
x 10) so that you have enough space to grow all the
varieties for your garden.
Just remember to think about how much space you have in your
lawn, what you want to plant, and what your future holds in
expansion gardening when you choose the size of greenhouse
for your lawn!
